The First Armenian Quiz In Canada
An evening of questions, music and company — for all ages
The Concept
Multiple teams play the game simultaneously, sit at a table, receive a question, discuss it for sixty seconds, and hand in an answer sheet at the end of each round. The questions are written to be solved, through reasoning, wordplay and lateral thinking, so that a gap in factual knowledge never locks anyone out. Every team hears the same question at the same moment, and teams are scored on the number of correct answers.
The model is the Armenian and post-Soviet tradition of What? Where? When?, adapted for a Toronto community audience and entertainment. But the evening is a social occasion as much as a competition.
Why This, Why Now
It fills a real gap, there is little social programming aimed squarely at adults and youth together.
It mixes generations, professions and backgrounds at the same table.
