Yesterday marked an exciting chapter for Barev Centre as our board came together for a productive and inspiring meeting — one filled with fresh ideas, meaningful conversations, and a renewed commitment to serving our community across the Greater Toronto Area.
We're thrilled to share two big pieces of news with our Barev family.
Welcoming Our New Team
We are delighted to introduce the wonderful people joining the Barev Centre team:
Maro Kochinyan — Office Manager & Coordinator
Garik Avagyan — Website Developer (Summer Program)
Aleksandr Tumanyan — Graphic Design Technician & Social Media Manager (Summer Program)
Maro will be the welcoming heart of our front office, supporting members, coordinating programs, and keeping everything running smoothly. Garik and Aleksandr are joining us through our summer employment initiative and will be hard at work modernizing our website and bringing a fresh, vibrant voice to our social media channels.

A Productive Board Meeting With Exciting Plans Ahead
Our board meeting was a truly fruitful one, sparking thoughtful discussions about how Barev Centre can continue to grow as a vibrant cultural and community hub. Together, we mapped out an enriching lineup that will expand and enhance our programming in the months ahead, including:
Youth programs that empower the next generation
Sports activities for all ages and skill levels
Art and cultural programs celebrating our heritage
Stronger social media presence to keep our community connected
A refreshed website experience that's easier to navigate and explore
A Historic Vision Presented by Archpriest Fr. Zareh Zargarian
One of the most powerful moments of our gathering was the presentation by Archpriest Fr. Zareh Zargarian, who unveiled an ambitious and inspiring vision for the future of our community: a brand-new, state-of-the-art multi-purpose residential and community complex in Toronto.
This historic initiative, led jointly by Holy Trinity Armenian Church and the Barev Centre Board, is far more than a construction project it is a generational investment in the physical, social, and cultural well-being of our seniors, children, youth, and families.
The proposed complex is envisioned to include:
Seniors' Independent Living Residence — dignified, modern, and accessible housing for our elders
Residential Development — contemporary housing seamlessly integrated into the site
A New Community Barev Centre & Banquet Hall — a vibrant cultural and social hub for celebrations, gatherings, and heritage preservation
With faith, hope, and a shared dream for the future, this is truly a chance to be part of history in the making.
